Dr. Gustavo Tolosa maintains an active career as a solo and chamber music pianist and teacher of all ages and levels. He enjoys creating "recitals with a theme" such as: "A Night in Buenos Aires" with romantic music by Argentinean composers; "Chords and Canvas" a multi-media performance in which art and music are woven a single experience; and "The Thanatos Negotiations" with original poetry projected and timed with a performance of Schubert’s Fantasy in F minor for one piano, four hands.
Dr. Tolosa enjoys performing standard works but he especially enjoys including works by lesser known composers. Personal comments and insights into the composers' lives and music enhance Dr. Tolosa's concerts. He understands that audiences appreciate the opportunity to listen with "guided ears" and he works to create powerful connections between the performer and the audience.
